Hi everyone, im hoping someone can help me out here, 

 

I have a BE65 3pack, its been great so far! totally covering my house garden and outside cameras. it replaced a amplifi alien that was on verge of dying. 

 

My deco has been good until the latest firmeare update, 1.0.8 ever since then i have had slow wifi issues on my iphone- each deco is hardwire backhaul and my speeds are usually 1100-1200mbps, if i restart my iphone the speeds come back, if i reboot the deco they come back, i dont have mlo activated as ive seen reports online that iphone just stays on the 5ghz band, so what ive been doing is using the networt optimize feature in the app and it works for the same length of time, in that about 40 minutes later the speeds cut down to more than half. so anywhere from 300-560 mbps, ive checked my modem and also reached out to apple incase its a issue on their end.

 

Its not the end of the world but it is frustrating that im not getting the speeds on my phone, oh and speeds are fine on other non iphone devices both wired and wireless... ive never enabled QOS as ive never needed too..

 

Another thing which is terrible at the moment is the app.. the client list and what deco things are connected too also freeze after a day or 2 and become useless..

 

 

Im hoping im not starting to regret buying this deco system.

Hi, welcome to the community.

Can I have the model number and OS of your iPhone?

 

For the Deco APP issues -the client list and what deco things are connected too also freeze after a day or 2 and become useless.

Can you share some screenshots with us? Are you saying the "Online list" status is not correctly updated?

hi David, after a full reset of my deco system the slowdowns so far have stopped for over 24 hours now as opposed to 40 minutes.. so I'm keeping my fingers crossed that's resolved that issue, il be updating here if it didn't fix it, 

 

in regards to the app- it as I move through my house I can tell which deck I'm connected to as I see the connection increase as I get closer to the deco unit in the room I'm in, but for example I have one in my gaming room. I know I'm connected to it but the client list in the app will have me listed at the one too far away, also if I reboot cameras it lists them as still being online and also connected to the wrong deco and then it eventually freezes. Where the client list and number of devices connected to each deco just remains the same.

Hi, Thank you very much for the time and patience.

Device roaming decisions are not only decided by Deco. When there are two available Mesh APs, Deco will give its preference based on the signal strength and Mesh Backhaul connection speed of the APs then mobile clients will determine whether to accept the roaming suggestions or not. In this way, occasionally we will notice mobile devices are stuck with certain APs even though they are far away, especially for smart home devices since many of them don't have great compatibility with the seamless roaming protocol.

Deco BE65_V1 supports setting connection preferences for mobile clients. If you find certain devices are not connected to the nearest Deco unit, you could refer to this link to manually set the connection preference: How to select a preferred signal source on the Deco App
