Deco BE65_V1_1.1.0 beta - feedback

updated with beta firmware and running smoothly for me, wireguard VPN surfshark or nord working well. wireguard protocol certainly seems to have little impact on internet speeds

Hello,
Thank you very much for providing access to the download link for the beta version. I will test it this weekend.
I noticed that for the V2 of the BE65, there is a more advanced beta version (1.1.4). Does the beta version 1.1.0 for the BE65 V1 include the improvements from version 1.1.4? Or will there soon be a 1.1.4 version for V1 as well?
Thank you very much,

@David-TP ,
Hi, for your information, support have send me a new firmware 1.1.0_build_20250120 to 20250124
It is better, the warning message for "WAN Speed port" has disappeared.
But, I have always poor speed test results.
We are making progress.

Hello,
After a few days of testing:
- Being able to change the WiFi channel is very convenient.
- After a few days of use without restarting the Decos or performing a network optimization, I noticed significant drops in speed. I feel like the 6 GHz band gets deactivated, even though it is still displayed. After a network optimization, everything works again.
- My 2017 MacBook Pro performs very poorly on the 5 GHz band. The WiFi disconnects, or there is no internet. I have to force it to use 2.5 GHz, in which case it works.

Thanks for the feedback.
Deco BE65 supports a "Reboot Schedule" and I think you might set a daily reboot schedule to see whether it helps regularly optimize the network.
For the MacBook 2017, I saw similar feedback on Deco BE25 today. Honestly, I don't think it is relevant to the Deco firmware.
But it is still suggested to try the recommended suggestions here:

After about 1 week testing:
- manual channel selection works very good and is especially needed for 2.4GHz
- option to disable 2.4 Ghz backhaul is also very useful and seems to work fine
- when disable 2.4 GHz backhaul and enable manual channel selection then the both Decos work on the same channel, are you planning to add a feature to select 2.4 GHz channel separately to main Deco and satellite Deco ("high capasity mode" is not possible now if using manual channel selection)
- during the 1 week testing, the main deco almost 24/7 give the full 1 Gbps speed (1Gbps optical fiber) when in 6G and about 800-900 Mbps in 5G (which has some interference from the neighbor) - great
- satellite deco has speeds of 300-500 Mbps only, even the wireless backhaul is green (no visible difference if enable 2.4GHz backhaul) - I'm planning to build a wired backhaul, which maybe helps
- I don't have any "low speed WAN" issues, but on the other hand maybe that is only an issue to WAN speeds >1Gbps
- however, in the last one day the satellite deco has been down (red light blinking) 2 times and the only way is to restart it - this has not ever happened before
- is there an estimate when to go live with V1 FW update, because the official FW is already 6 months of age!!
- I have noticed that there maybe are more recent beta versions than the public early access version (20250120), are the beta updates available somewhere?

@David-TP
Would it be possible to supply me with the latest beta of the new firmware please? The current beta is exhibiting an issue, (details below)
Upgraded today and all went well except for a warning of “Abnormal WAN port speed, please check your WAN port connection”.
I use the DECO in AP Mode only with a Unifi Max Router (Which shows a 2.5Gbe connection).
Testing via LAN Speed on my NAS (Connected via 10Gbe to my main network run), shows a wired speed of around 11,000Mbps but previously over WiFi it was consistently over 2200Mbps, since the firmware upgrade this has declined to around 1000Mbs on all WiFi devices. So it seems that the Deco ports are connected and negotiating at 2.5Gbps but internally the firmware is downgrading to 1Gb.
The switches show a 2.5Gbe connection has been negotiated and I am using good quality Cat 6A cables, (though this shouldn’t be an issue for short cable runs, as you can usually get 10Gbps via Cat5E.
Troubleshooting attempted
1. Reboot Deco = No change
2. Reboot switches and router = No change
3. Change cables = No change I suspect therefore that the issue is within the firmware
Methodology
Devices used iPad Pro M4, Samsung S25 Ultra, iPhone 16 Pro Max
Devices connected to numerous networks to ensure it wasn't a WiFi issue
1. MLO
2. 6Ghz
3. Regular network
The issue was observed on all networks
Devices were sited with clear line of site to the main Deco at a distance of approx 4 Metres.
No other issues were identified with this release of FW in my testing
