Model: UB500
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version: 1.9.1051.3012

Hey

I've used UB500 Bluetooth adapters with two Windows computers since last year. For the past few weeks, I've been facing Bluetooth connection problems. The problem is that whenever I restart the computer or shut it down and turn it back on, a Bluetooth headphone, which I previously paired with my laptop, does not work. Every single time, to connect, I have to re-pair the Bluetooth headphones with the laptop again. To do that, I remove Bluetooth headphones from the settings app and then add them back. I wish it worked as flawlessly as it does with my smartphone; I have never had to re-pair the Bluetooth headphones to my phone, and my phone is quite old and not even a premium one.

I have tried many things to fix this issue:

  • I have unplugged and replugged the Bluetooth adapter.
  • I have tried restarting the computer.
  • I have tried reinstalling the driver, but nothing seems to work.
  • I have even tried to disable the power management sleep option from the Bluetooth driver.

Please fix my issue as soon as possible. If the driver needs updating from your side, please do so as early as possible.

  @Adaptnconnect

Hi, welcome to our community.

Are you using two UB500 on two Windows computers separately? Is it the same problem happening on both computers even if swapping two UB500?

Here are some suggestions for your reference:

1. Reinstall UB500 following this guide

2. Make sure that there are no other household devices nearby, like a microwave oven.

3. Please check if this device can constantly connect with other Bluetooth devices.

4. Try different ports, and work with another computer.

You may also contact local technical support for direct help.

Thank you and best regards.

Yes, I bought two ub500 devices. And use them on two different computers. And the same problem is happening on both. 1. There is no driver download listed on the support page for the model that I have. https://www.tp-link.com/in/support/download/ub500/v1/ . I've already listed the driver version installed by the windows update as the firmware version: 1.9.1051.3012. Completely uninstalling and reinstalling driver with restarts doesn't help. 2. None as such. 3. Yes, it can. 4. Ports don't affect it. 5. Two devices already with two adapters.
