Model: RE450
Hardware Version: V4
Firmware Version:

I've been using this extender for almost a year now with no issue.

I get up one day and turn on my computers, still with no issue, but after a bit, I noticed that the wifi just dropped. I went to check the repeater and noticed that the only light it had on was the power light.

I tried unplugging and replugging, but that just makes the power and the 2 internet light come on then the light above them turns red for half a second and then all the lights except for the power go off.

I tried holding down the reset button but absolutely nothing happened.

The Tether App doesn't even register it.

Hi  @Trackaxion,

If your TP-Link range extender was working fine before, but it failed to connect to the host router or lost Internet connection suddenly, the following troubleshooting steps can be helpful:
    1. Try restarting both the router and the extender.
    2. Ensure the router's Wi-Fi network is working properly.
    3. Ensure that your extender is within range of the router.
    4. Keep the extender away from interfering devices like metal objects, fish tanks, microwaves, Bluetooth devices, and so on.
    5. Use a pin to press the reset hole for 1–8 seconds to restore the extender to factory default. All lights will turn on momentarily when the extender resets. Then launch the Tether App, click the top right "+" button to add it. Check this link to view comprehensive instructions: How to configure Range Extender via Tether APP

@Trackaxion Have you changed password of the wifi network on the main router/access point?
Because if you had, the extender woud not be able to connect anymore, then you'd have to repeat the initial 'pairing' process.
