Model: Deco M4
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version: 1.6.1

HI, I've been using Deco M4 for around 2 years now without any major isues, however over last few days I'm not able to connect my PC to the network as I keep getting "duplicate IP" on both WiFi and ethernet. My netowrk consists of two M4's in router mode (one on first floor connected to ISP router sencond on bottom floor working as a repeater).

Now the funny thing is I also have a TP link extender TL-WA860RE that I sue to manage wifi for my CCTV cameras, and when I connect over WiFi to extender my PC gets IP allcated without any issues and I am able to connect to internet, but not through the main network.

It's worth mentioning I reserved IP adress for my PC through the Deco App and even then I get duplicate IP

Ethernet adapter Ethernet:

   Connection-specific DNS Suffix  . :
   Description . . . . . . . . . . . : Realtek PCIe 2.5GbE Family Controller
   Physical Address. . . . . . . . . : **-**-**-**-**-**
   DHCP Enabled. . . . . . . . . . . : No
   Autoconfiguration Enabled . . . . : Yes
   Autoconfiguration IPv4 Address. . : 169.254.79.226(Preferred)
   Subnet Mask . . . . . . . . . . . : 255.255.0.0
   IPv4 Address. . . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.68.150(Duplicate)
   Subnet Mask . . . . . . . . . . . : 255.255.255.0
   Default Gateway . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.68.1
   DNS Servers . . . . . . . . . . . : 109.196.48.2
   NetBIOS over Tcpip. . . . . . . . : Enabled

With DHCP enabled I get 169.254.... Ip address

Also, all mobile phones, TV's etc work absoultely fine connected to main WiFi

We just bought new laptop for my wife and that also won't connect to WiFi, only the extender to get internet

Any ideas on what is going on would be much appreciated

Hi, welcome to the community.

If we temporarily unplug the TL-WA860RE, will the laptops be able to connect to Deco successfully?

May I know the hardware version as well as the firmware version of your TL-WA860RE?

-If it is V6, it is suggested to install the following here:

Wi-Fi Range Extender Causing Host Router No Internet

Thank you and best regards.

  @David-TP HI David, Thanks for the tip.

I have upgraded the extender firmware to beta (it's a v6) but it did not change anything utill I removed the extender for few minutes. Once I plugged it back in, the network is back to what it was before and all devices can now connect.

Only thing remaining is I cant ping devices over ethernet from my PC as I keep getting "General Failure", but just to make it more bizzare only devices on local network  like below

inside:

Pinging 192.168.68.1 with 32 bytes of data:
General failure.
General failure.
General failure.
General failure.

Ping statistics for 192.168.68.1:
    Packets: Sent = 4, Received = 0, Lost = 4 (100% loss),

and outside:

Pinging 8.8.8.8 with 32 bytes of data:
Reply from 8.8.8.8: bytes=32 time=24ms TTL=117
Reply from 8.8.8.8: bytes=32 time=23ms TTL=117
Reply from 8.8.8.8: bytes=32 time=24ms TTL=117
Reply from 8.8.8.8: bytes=32 time=23ms TTL=117

Ping statistics for 8.8.8.8:
    Packets: Sent = 4, Received = 4, Lost = 0 (0% loss),
Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds:
    Minimum = 23ms, Maximum = 24ms, Average = 23ms

I've done pretty much everything including removing/upgrading and even changing network adapters, resetting network, renew/release all sorts.... no change

  @PawelO

Hi, if you test one more device, did it have the same issue?

I checked with the senior engineer earlier and he explained it was likely due to the firewall settings on the current computer.

Wait for your reply and best regards.

  @David-TP

David,

I don't have any more devices I can ping test over the ethernet (all laptops come without RJ-45 now days :/ ) but they are able to ping gateway over WiFi.

Firewall was also on my list, but when I disabled it both in windows and symantec it made no change sadly.

Thanks for your help so far and Happy Holidays!
