Problems with my Deco
Hello,
I have 2 Deco X60. The main one connects directly to internet with ppoe.
When it works, everything is okay but sometimes the problem i see is that the connection with the ISP is on, but cannot navigate. 100% packet loss. So total blackout. I reboot the Deco and everything is working.
I don't know if it is a router problem or an ISP one but the last is telling that everything is okay from their side. This is a fiber connection so i have in front of the Deco a gpon device.
There is also a missing feature on this router. A connsct and disconnect button on the wan side.
The problem is that this is a black box. How to troubleshoot when it will happen again?
Thank you

For various reasons its best never to use Deco as a modem. Always use a separate modem and ethernet to the Main Deco.

Hi, thanks for posting question here.
May I confirm the LED status on Decos when the problem happens? Solid green, solid red or blinking red?
How often does the problem happen?
Who is your ISP? Is your network topology gpon device--X60?
You refer to the first situation in the guide to change DNS for a try: The Main Deco network is unstable or loses internet suddenly.

hi, and thank you for the reply.
Regarding your questions:
not sure but i would have noticed if it was not solid green. I will next time.
ISP is based in Albania but with the router that i had previosly, never had this kind of problem. The idea was to upgrade the wireless which was poor but the wan side was solid.
Problem occurd 3 times in 1 month and a half which is the time since i bought the devices.
Topology is: "fiber on gpon device"--->"PPoE on X60"
I will try the guide but i don't think is a dns issue. I tried to ping 8.8.8.8 and i got timeouts on all packets.
IS there any way to troubleshoot when it happen again. The only solution that i have is to reboot the Deco and that will fix the problem. i don't touch the gpon.

So if your ISP router/modem is handling the WAN side and assigning IP addresses to your LAN then your main Deco should be set to Access Point mode. You have double NAT at the moment which could cause issues.
