Archer AX55 not getting public IP from Talk Talk
I purchased Archer AX55 to replace the Sagemcom router provided by Talk Talk. The problem is it cannot get a public IP from the ISP. I tried all the different steps and workarounds especified in the troubleshooting guides without success: factory reset, reset ONT modem, disconnect coaxial cable, update firmware, clone mac, use sagecom mac, change dhcp ip, etc but nothing works.
I tested the ont modem connecting my laptop directly and I get internet. I tested the archer router using it as access point and it works fine. So, I assume that there should be something in the settings I am missing when it set it as a main router. Anyone knows what it can be and how can I solve the issue? Thanks

Hi @amartingil,
Generally, your ISP talktalk provides different Internet connection types, such as PPPoE, you will have to manually configure it to obtain Internet.
It is recommended that you can confirm the internet connection types with talktalk.

Hi @amartingil,
May I know if your network topology diagram is as follows:
Modem—Archer AX55 in AP mode )))((( client devices
(Note: — stands for wired connection,)))((( stands for wireless connection )
If the above topology diagram is correct, it means that the modem has obtained the public network IP and the modem has acted as a gateway.
If you do not change the router to Access Point mode, the router configuration only needs to select Dynamic IP, and does not need to configure talktalk information.
If you want Archer AX55 to obtain the public IP, you can consider adjusting Archer AX55 to the front and directly connect to the network source of talktalk. Or, set the modem to bridge mode.

The topology I'm trying is the following:
ONT modem (broadband source)- Archer AX55 (router mode - dynamic ip)- Laptop
The archer's admin settings page shows that it's trying to connect but the ip remains 0.0.0.0 indefinitely
If I do:
ONT (network source) - Sagemcom( Talk talk router) - Archer AX55 ( AP mode) - Laptop
Works well, but I lose all enhanced network management benefits by no replacing the Sagemcom router by the tp link.
I don't now if it's possible to set up the sagemcom as bridge.
