  @OeKintaro install 1.15, since that the firmware upgrades are useless, 1.17 wasnt that bad, had random restarts, 1.20 is just a waste of time

  @Rushtonwolves

Will probably do exact that. But it seems that version 1.1.7 has recovered after a few frustrating restarts and currently everything seems to be stable.

  @David-TP Had terrible problems on 1.1.7 red or white light few hours. Updated to 1.2.0 which has been a little better with scheduled reboot every morning but I am still getting red and white light crashes now maybe every second day. I note people mentioning 1.2.1 but the link in the first post is for 1.2.0

Where can I download 1.2.1 ?

#EDIT

I note some people went back to 1.1.15 and got a stable result.

However the recovery instruction requires a windows PC. Is it possible to revert to 1.1.15 on mac?

What's the status of this firmware now. I updated to 1.2.0 20241011 back when it was an official firmware and before it was pulled from distribution, which seems to mean I'm on completely unsupported firmware that I can't upgrade or downgrade to an official one without special measures.

This thread is showing a different 1.2.0 as a beta version, apparently after another beta with version number 1.2.1 was also pulled from the forum. Now there's no updates whatsoever for over a month, and people on the forum are saying the new beta is not fixing the issues they had with 1.2.0.

Personally, I've found the 1.2.0 to work fairly well for me, although I'm wondering a bit if the X50-5G contains enough RAM to run it properly with all the features. However, can someone tell me when I can upgrade to an officially supported firmware again through the app?

  @formax6

Yes, you can, with a MAC ... Use this, without any software: Method 2: Http uboot web-based interface (Taking Deco M4 as an example) -> https://community.tp-link.com/en/home/stories/detail/672

It is a pure tragedy that a firmware update has been released that is obviously full of bugs and even more than a month after its release there is still no working update.

Yesterday - last edited Yesterday

  @juhovh I bricked my v1 x50-5g simply by updating its firmware and had to go through the support team to get a replacement HW. Once I received the replacement, also a v1, I left it with the factory firmware (1.13 I think) and I am planning on leaving it there. I got fiber installed this week at home, so next week when it is finally activated, I am disconnecting this hot mess and leaving it as a backup solution. It has been 15 months of fighting with disconnection and unwillingly beta-testing software on which my entire house/family relies upon. I am so ready to move on, honeslty.

On the one hand, I am thankful for the solution the system provided. I was able to move into this new house and work from home. But it cost me so many hours of torubleshooting and so many gray hairs.

I know the rest of my house LAN is solid, but this router took me to my limits and beyond.
