So I've moved to an area in UK (Dorset), with useless mobile reception on all 4 main networks in the UK even though their coverage states it's good with 3 and O2..!

(Can't get any broadband connection as apparently the street cabinet is at full capacity with OpenReach having no plans to resolve - and no cable/Virgin)

Which would be the best way to add an external antenna to my new TP-Link Deco X50-5G?

There is no 5G in the area but 4G is available (just about), so after seeing comments on Reddit, I,m trying to decide whether to go for the Poynting 5g Antenna xpol-2-5g, or the Paradar Bluespot: 5G-ready outdoor antenna for UK broadband, 4G LTE-A + 5G support, cross-polarised, high gain & weatherproof, pole mount, 5m cables

Hi, welcome to the community.

It is suggested to have a look at How to install 5G external antennas on Deco X80-5G and Deco X50-5G

Both antennas have SMA Male connectors by default and a TS9 adapter is required.

"Bluespot: 5G-ready outdoor antenna for UK broadband, 4G LTE-A + 5G support, cross-polarised, high gain & weatherproof, pole mount, 5m cables" seems to have more positive views on Amazon and it has TS9 connectors in the box. The 4G LTE performance might depend on the actual installation environment.

Would the Poynting not be able to be connected even using your connectors that came with your device?

Also, would you say it would make a noticeable/good difference from indoors to an external aerial?

I knowvit depends on signal but if I just getv1 bar with the built in antenna, how much of a difference would an external one make, and is it worth it for something costing the same as your device?
