IPTV via WR-702N. Multicast?
Region : UnitedKingdom
Model : TL-WR702N
Hardware Version : Not Clear
Firmware Version :
ISP : BT Infinity
I have a BT Youview STB, which is connected via a WR702-N in client mode, to my home wireless (BT HH3 on BT Infinity FTTC broadband, running at 40Mb/s).
This arrangement works fine for on-demand services such as BBC iPlayer, including HD.
However, I can't view BT Sport - or any other "live streamed" channel. From a technical point of view, I believe the difference is that BT Sport is a "multicast", and this may mean that the router needs to accept multicast packets.
Can anyone shed any light on whether there is a technical limitation with the WR702-N which is preventing me from viewing this channel? Or is it something to do with settings?
If it's a limitation, maybe I need to move to a different router, or a powerline solution?
Thanks
David
