Model: Archer A2
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 3.16.1

I have an old TP-Link router that I am trying to connect to a WiFi dongle, using the dongle as the source of the internet. I have done this before using a ZTE MF960 dongle but am now trying to use a ZTE MF950T dongle. It has been a long time since I last did this and cannot quite remember how it is done.

The ZTE address is 192.168.0.1. I have changed the TL WR841N to 192.168.0.2.

I have enabled WDS bridging and hit survey. The ZTE comes up. The ZTE is set to a single channel and selected the same channel on TL. I have set the password of the ZTE and then hit save. It thinks about it and then the page comes back but the network page says WAN port is unplugged. The WAN connection type is set to dynamic. Maybe it has to be set to static but I have no idea what to enter into the fields if I choose static.

Any clues? Also, there are guides to a later version of the TL WR841N but mine is older than the ones shown in the guide. Speed is not an issue as it will only be used to monitoe a weather station. The weather station will not connect to the ZTE but it does connect to my phone hotspot and it willconnect to the TL, thus solving my problem.

I have selected Archer as the model but only because my model does not show up and I had to enter something.

 Hi @j1j ,

If you want to use the router to expand network of new dongle, please refer to the FAQ:
