Use whitelist as security for AP

My tplink AC 1750 c7 archer, works well in AP mode. I wonder how I can secure the AP. It is only used for software updates of my TeslaY. I have created a guest account and have  chosen 5Ghz, because of less spatial range. I also want to apply a whitelist in guest mode with only the Mac address of the car as only Wifi-user. But that Mac address is not accepted. I have filled in the data 5 times with lower and upper case letters, but no result. I checked this adddress in the car and on the central modem.
Is it possible that I first have to log in with the car and fill in the whitelist from there?
thanks in advance for a problable solution

Hi@Joest,

As you have asked before, many advanced features in Access Point mode are not available. For details, please refer to: What’s the difference between the Access Point Mode and Router Mode on the TP-Link wireless router?

Your needs can be met with the Access control function, but this function is not available in Access point mode.

So you may need to change the operation mode to wireless router mode.

Thank you for your answer. As I replied before, I managed to make a guest account which operates well. But my real problem is that I want to enter a Mac adress from the car into the whitelist. And this Mac-adres ( the real address from the car) is not allowed /accepted. Is thiis a TPlink question? Or is the possible solution to get acces with the car to the routerand try again?
