I have a problem. The router media server fails all folders scan me a folder of music. I have the hard drive in FAT32 format. In the music folder I have about 300 folders with over 5000 files. And I scanned the media server 179 and there is a short. This is a bug? or is there a limit to scan files?

Have you upgraded the firmware to the latest one?Download link is http://www.tp-link.com/en/support/download/?model=TL-WDR4300&version=V1#tbl_j
It is said that the new firmware can scan about 3000 folders.

I have the latest firmware. The Build 130617 Rel.46239n '3 .13.33 '. But the problem persists. It is possible that maybe one special file, stop scanning recursion?

That would be the reason. What are the format for the music files. It seems that TP-LINK media server can support those format:

TP-Link uses the same portion of crappy code for the USB port file management within a lot of TP-Link routers.

As I reported the same problem with different routers a long time ago, I'm sure now this company is not capable to handle and fix the bugs...

@HiSpeed I'm surprised that in 2020 I have the same issue with my Archer C5400 :(

7 years no fix for this annoying media scanning bug?
