I currently have 3 BE65 and plan to purchase 3 X50-POE V2 mto supplement them. Although ordering from X50-POE V2 from tp-link store through the main online retailers market store amazon is tricky as you can't choose v2, or is there a way to guarantee the X50-POE V2

 

I'm hoping to get V2 from amazon but i don't think you can pick V1 or V2 when ordering. 

 

 

 

However one of my main concerns of mixing these deco models is i will lose features such as vpn from the app. 

 

Is this the case and what features do the X50-POE v2 not have? 

 

 

 

Or would i be better off waiting for the release of the be65poe? 

 

 

 

When will these begin shipping approximately?

Hi, Nice to see you again.

Both Deco X50-POE V1 and V2 support VPN Server/Client with the latest firmware. So you will still have the VPN as well as the IOT Network on the Deco APP.

 

If you are not in a hurry, you could wait for the Deco BE65-POE which might need to be in 2025.

 

The online retailers might not mark V1 and V2 but if you purchase from the local store, the hardware version will printed on the Box>Product label and V2 has 2*2.5G Ethernet Ports which can also be found on the box>specification side.

  @David-TP Thanks very much for always replying. 

 

Unfortunately I don't have any local stockists nearby so I took a chance after reading some  reviews of V2 versions being shipped to customers. I would love to wait for the be65poe but with no guaranteed date i ordered the X50-POE 

 

My main concern would be losing features on the deco app and network combining them with the 3 be65 i have and love. 

 

Having never combined different deco models, other than not having WiFi 7 on the  BE6, would there be any specific features that would be disabled on the app or does the app still apply the features specific to the AP on the mesh network you are making changes to?

Understand the Differences Among Deco Firmware Platforms

 

Deco X50-POE_V1 with the latest firmware 1.2.5 is on the 1.7.0&1.8.0 firmware platforms and Deco X50-POE_V2_1.4.4 is currently updated to the 1.10.0 platform.

Deco BE65_V1_1.0.5 is also updated to 1.7.0&1.8.0 firmware platforms. So as far as I can remember, almost all the new software features(not related to the WiFi7) on the Deco BE65_V1 are also available on the Deco X50-POE.

  @David-TP just a quick thank you. I received a V2 X50-POE  from amazon. Good deal and I will set up tomorrow.
