Access control by IP HOST ( USER) is broken, doesnt work, miss-programmed by TPLINK
The access control system on this is fundamentally flawed.
Today i took many clients routers and configure them to only let a list of host IPs (the same as those on the DHCP server) be able to access the internet.
I used my functioning brain and assessed the way the system should work.
Set up a host list for the same range as the DHCP server and called it DHCP HOST IPS
Mode: IP Address
Description:
IP Address: 192.168.65.100 - 192.168.5.102
pick deny, so that if anyone uses a static IP address and not one from the DHCP server
Allow the packets not specified by any filtering rules to passthrough this device.
Deny the packets not specified by any filtering rules to passthrough this device.
Description: NON DHCP block
LAN Host:
Target: DHCP HOST IPS
Schedule: Any Time
Rule: Allow
Status: Enabled
Direction: IN
Protocol: ALL
With all of that, i get calls from my guys at night that everyone complaining.
Its because these idiots who make this hardware have the logic flawed.
So with that in mind, is ther any wya to trick the broken , fundamentally flawed, stupidly miss-programmed system to do what I need it to do?
