Hi,

I have an archer c7 and would like to use tp link's ddns service. But unfortunately I seem to have issues with binding the router to my tp link id, which seems to be a requirement for the same. I always get a "failed to bind device" mo matter what I do. I did browse through a few threads here, and tried the posted recommendations but no luck so far.
 

I have always used a local admin account all this time, and the router was purchased brand new so it can't be linked to any id beforehand. And yes, logically a factory reset was the first thing I did and even setting up as new from scratch didn't help. I've also tried using the tether app, but I don't see an option anywhere in the app to bind the device. All I can see is the mac address and device name when I click on info, where I'm told there should be a bind option.
