Model: Deco X50-5G
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.2.0 Build 20241011 Rel. 32926

I recently switched from an Archer MR600 to a Deco X50-5G. After working perfectly for the first couple of weeks, I'm now experiencing internet drop outs throughout the day.

My ISP is O2. My 5G signal is consistent at around 60%. I've updated to the latest firmware (1.2.0) but it hasn't made any difference.

I can remember having a similar type of issue on my Archer when I first switched to O2 and an ISP update from the forums fixed it. I can't find a more up to date ISP file for this router.

Current ISP Version:

24071201

Any help? My connection is almost unusable since this issue started.

  @Lors

Hi, welcome to the community.

Have you noticed Deco X50-5G turn red during the disconnection?

Later, I'd like to follow up on your case via email. Please check whether you could receive my email.

At the same time, could you please help me save the following details:

  • The screenshots of the internet settings before and after the 5G outage.
  • A screenshot of the Cellular details after clicking "Additional information"

Wait for your reply and best regards.

  @Lors Sadly it's the same case here.

Please go to settings -> System -> (click your main router) -> then check the CPU and memory usage.

I have been getting 100% CPU usage all the time with my Deco X50-5G and memory usage always hover above 80%.

In fact the issue of it going down throughout the day has happened since the day I bought it about half a year ago.

The error log kept showing temperature related error lines. You can access the log via the web interface.

Please check yours and update here. I'm curious.

  @Lors Try manually setting the "Carrier" setting shown in your screenshot. This fixed the same problem I was having with my X50. On mine it is set to "o2-PAYG".

  @David-TP

yes, the light does turn red.

I have upgraded to the beta firmware sent to me. Unfortunately it is still happening.

I did not take a screenshot during the outage but I do remember that everything from WAN IP down was reading 0.

I am also frequently getting disconnected from the Deco when this happens. My devices appear to be connected to wifi but neither the app or the web interface respond (screenshot). I have to physically unplug to reboot when this happens.

I am seeing 100% CPU frequently but not all the time. I don’t think I can see any temperature warnings in the logs. What did yours read? I’m curious if you’ve had the same issue I have of being unable to log in to the admin interface when the device loses internet. It doesn’t happen all the time but it does frequently (both app and web). It means I have to physically unplug instead of rebooting.

I’m going to downgrade from the beta software I was sent (which hasn’t helped) and try this. I know I can see O2-PAYG as one of the carrier options so I’ll give it a go.

  @Lors Hope it works. I had a unit which worked for a week on 4G without any problems, but when switched to 5G it constantly went red, normally after a few minutes. I set the carrier and it has worked now for about 9 months on 5G without any red lights.
