Just like it says, I would like to migrate soon.

My situation: I have had my Xfinity 4-node Deco W7200 network (access point mode) for about 5 months. Works great.

I just had a new Fidium ISP installed with the ONT in bridge mode (with the hope of ditching Xfinity).  I moved one of my 4 Decos from Xfinity over to the new ISP and configured it in router mode.  I am using this a means of testing the Fidium performance and compatibility.

So I am left with my original working 3-node Xfinity system in access point mode, and a new Fidium network in router mode.  My goal is to end up with all devices and all 4 nodes on the Fidium ISP line.

What is the easiest, least painful means of migrating my Xfinity network to the Fidium network.

Thank you.

You have three Deco units in Xfinity Deco mesh: one Main Deco, Ethernet wired, and two are Satellites which are connected to Main Deco wirelessly.

Starting with Xfinity Satellite Deco, open its page in Deco app and Remove Satellite Deco, which will reset it and put in "ready to be added to Deco mesh mode." See here, section "Reset a Deco unit": https://community.tp-link.com/en/home/kb/detail/330

Take that Satellite Deco and add it to Fidium Deco mesh, by following this: https://www.tp-link.com/en/support/faq/1590/

If successful, repeat same steps with second Xfinity Satellite Deco.

At this point you should have Fidium Deco mesh with Main Deco and two Satellites, Xfinity Deco mesh with just Main Deco. Double check everything looks fine and all Deco are reported as healthy (online) in Deco app.

Then, do same steps with Xfinity Main Deco.

Done.

Alexandre, thanks for the quick reply. It seems that by removing and resetting these units and adding them to the Fidium network, I am going to have to reconfigure all of my wifi devices all over again. I was hoping there was some sort of migration utility or the like that would preserve my settings on to the new network.

I assume you want to keep your network settings on the existing AP Mode setup so you don't have to reconfigure your clients.  So, the simplest method would be to change the operation mode of the Deco from AP mode to Router mode.  Disconnect them from the Xfinity service and then hook them up to the new service provider.  Mark sure to connect the unit identified as Main to the new ISP Ont.  As long as the new ISP uses dynamic mode for the WAN, you should connect within a few minutes.  Then, you can reset the node you were using to test the connection and add it back to the others as a satellite node.

Thank you Carl for the quick and informative reply.  Just a few more questions.

You are correct. I want to minimize having to visit my 40 or so  clients when I transfer my ISP to Fidium.  I will also have to call Fidium and give them the MAC address of the "new (moved) Main Deco" so they can issue an IP Adress to the new Main Deco.  Once that is done and confirmed, and I have physically moved the cable of the Xfinity Main Deco to the Fidium ONT, all my wifi clients should follow and sync up.  Correct?

If I understand correctly, with this scenario, the only thing that is changing is my "old" main Deco from Xfinity, is being moved to my new FIdium ISP and converted to a DHCP reservation from Fidium. My two old Deco wifi networks and associated SSIDs and passwords should "follow"  over to the new ISP.

Do I have this right?  Thank you Carl.
