Model: Deco BE65
Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version:

Hi,

In Finland, I would be able to choose between Deco BE65 with hw revision 1 and 2. What are the differences, is the rev1 eg more buggy? What is actually different hardware wise? I see a nice discount on a two pack which I have been told should be rev1..

Hi, welcome to the community.

The main difference would be the 2.4GHz of V1 doesn't support 802.11 be, only 802.11b/g/n/ax; but V2 is 802.11b/g/n/ax/be.

The current firmware for V2 is one step further than V1 and has been updated to 1.1.0 with many new features. V1 might still need some time to get updated.

Thank you very much and best regards.

Thanks @David-TP

so is the 2,4ghz difference indeed a hardware thing then? Same thing on the Archer BE550? Or could the BE550 receive be capability for it's 2,4 it as a firmware update?

  @Pertti71

Hi, Thanks for the update.

For Deco BE65 V1 and V2, it is a hardware difference.

For Archer BE550, I can't say for sure. It is suggested to post a thread here for further confirmation:

  @David-TP

Hello,

What are the hardware differences exactly? Isn't the deco be65 based on a Qualcomm chipset?

I just got mine and when I found out about those differences between V1 and V2 I got a bit disappointed because I got a V1.

Due to the fact that the V1 fw is also behind V2 I hope that V1 will not get neglected and that both hw revisions will get the same development attention?!

  @ArdaDaMarda

Hi, welcome to the community.

Deco BE65_V1 still uses a Qualcomm chipset. It is still a very important model in the Deco WiFI 7 Family and will receive similar firmware upgrades as other models.

Thank you very much and best regards.

  @David-TP

Wait here! Do I misunderstand something?

Do Deco BE65 - BE9300 Whole Home Mesh WiFi 7 System V1 not support 802.11 be?
Seems to me like that support was the whole point of the Deco BE65, so I guess I missed something here. :)

Best regards

  @RobertMa

The V1 does not support WiFi 7 on 2,4ghz but does on 5 and 6ghz if I understand correctly.
