Firmware Version: 1.6.1 Build 20231227 Rel. 80438

Hello,

I have a Deco M4 wich is set up to be the main router and the ISP (cat 5e) cable goes directly into the Deco M4 and I do not have any other routers. My issue is that when I restart the router manually by removing the power cord, I am getting the full promised speed i.e 400Mbps on my 5ghz channel, however after a few hours the speed drops to 100Mbps on the 5ghz and 2.4 ghz and does not go beyond 100Mbps.

I have also set the Qos to 400 and not added any devies to the Qos list.

Also to add I restart my router manually because thats the only way speed goes up and when I reboot it throught the app it stays at 100Mbps :(

Is my router faulty or is anyone else facing the same issue with their Deco M4?

  @Shailesh565

Hi, thanks for posting question here.

It is recommended to place the Deco away from high-power appliances such as microwave ovens.

If you have other Ethernet cables, please replace your cat 5e cable from ISP to confirm.

You may turn off QoS for a try.
When testing speed, please try to keep only the client used for speed testing and disconnect other clients from the network.

It is also more suggested to follow this guide to troubleshoot.

Tried everything, speed still drops to 95 Mbps on 5ghz frequency after few hours, I have noticed another thing, I need to change the Ethernet cable ( ISP) from port 1 to 2 and 2 to 1 on the deco if it goes down, then the speed goes up :( .

  @marcus_w ,  This issue is very common in all deco units, I have managed to solve it by rebooting it from the deco app. I reboot it every morning,  If reboot from the app does not work, just plug off your device and let it cool down for about 5 mins then  switch it on. This should work.

Also don't set Qos.
