Model: Deco P7
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version: 1.4.11 and 1.4.10

Hi,

recently PLC connection stopped working properly. I have one P7 which needs to use PLC instead of WiFi. Now the device is choosing Wifi with very weak signal instead choosing PLC which could provide right quality. Which means my connected devicea re dropping and connecting again all the time. It makes me crazy as I receive hundreds messages about that.

I have checked this on 1.4.11 and also on downgarded 1.4.10 firmware. The same behaviour.

Is there any chance to set PLC as a default? Ot any other solution to set PLC as preferred connection?

Hi, thanks for posting question here.

When did you purchase the Decos? It is suggested to reboot all Decos for a try.

You may also relocate Decos to confirm whether Powerline backhaul reworks.

Hi  @Marvin_S

I have purchased couple of years ago and till now there was no problems in my decos setup. You can imagine in the meantime I restarted all many times. As I have read somewhere in the community, I have downgraded firmware to 1.4.10 and now it looks better. The deco where I expect PLC now is connected through it. So the question is what happened in 1.4.11 firmware versions that are causing such issues for me and other users - as I read in the forum.

And @Marvin_S after couple of testing days it looks like deco is still prioritizing weak WiFi over stable and reliable plc connection. No idea what to do next.

Hi, thanks for your update~

For your situation, after consulting the system engineering, I am afraid that it is the performance deterioration of Deco P7 itself causing the result.  You may contact local support/retailer if your Deco P7 is still under warranty or consider new network devices.
