I have a be550 router with upnp active. I have problems of nature in the game Call Of Duty. We are 2 players playing on the same network, with 2 different PCs, with fixed IPs. The first player connects, upnp automatically opens the internal and external port 3074, and therefore the first player has open nat. While the first player is playing, the second player starts the game but finds himself nat moderated. The internal port opened is always 3074, but the external one is not taken correctly. In the game the external port is for example 4567 but the be550 opens the 6789. Why? The game uses demonportmapping to open the ports..
the external port changes often, I think based on the matches it finds, while the internal one is always 3074.
port 46137 changes based on the game.. it is not always fixed. the 3074 on the other hand is fixed.

The thing is that the router can't open the same external port to two different internal IP addresses.
Actually tha application (your game) tells the router which external port should be opened via UPnP.

If you think that the router UPnP feature doesn't work as expected in your particular case, you can always configure a port-forwarding (virtual server) and disable UPnP to mitigate this.

@terziyski as i was saying every time i open the game the external port changes, i can't set a different port every time. what can i do? i can't disable upnp because i need it for other programs where it works regularly..

UpnP is a standardized protocol and if the external port is different that is because the application (yoiur game) requested that port from the router.
That's the first sentence from the link about UPnP protocol I posted in my prevous post:
"The UPnP (Universal Plug and Play) protocol allows applications or host devices to automatically find the front-end NAT device and send request to it to open the corresponding ports."

Hi,
UPnP opens the corresponding ports for devices based on their requests.
If one device is already using internal port 3074, another device won't be able to use that same internal port simultaneously.
In your case, you may set a fixed external port and a different internal port for one of the devices. And you can manually set up port forwarding to ensure the game runs smoothly.
Besides, please make sure you are tagging my account or other TP-Link Admins if you want a timely response.

I can have 2 devices with different fixed IPs in the same network that have the same internal port open and a different external port. example device 1 internal port 3074 external port 3074 device 2 internal port 3074 external port 13547. for the second device I had to configure the port manually in port farwarding for now.
therefore it is possible to have 2 identical internal ports on 2 devices with different IP.
the problem is that the tplink with upnp for the second device uses an external port which is not the one needed for the game. Why?

Hi,
If you still doubt that the UPnP feature of your Archer BE550 is correctly mapping the port numbers which it is told to map by your game, then you can use some software (for example the one you can see in the screenshot below) to simulate manually what you think the game is doing and then check whether the port mappings are assigned correctly on the Archer BE550.

doesn't work, see error below
192.168.0.3 is a tplink 8980 access point connected via LAN. why am I reading that IP?
by deactivating it, I now see the 192.168.0.2 device which is another access point, in cascade before the 192.168.0.3. Maybe cascade access points cause errors with UPNP?
I did other tests. with access point turned off for the second UPNP player always opens the wrong external port. for the first player everything is fine.
