opening doors - nat
opening doors - nat
I have a be550 router with upnp active. I have problems of nature in the game Call Of Duty. We are 2 players playing on the same network, with 2 different PCs, with fixed IPs. The first player connects, upnp automatically opens the internal and external port 3074, and therefore the first player has open nat. While the first player is playing, the second player starts the game but finds himself nat moderated. The internal port opened is always 3074, but the external one is not taken correctly. In the game the external port is for example 4567 but the be550 opens the 6789. Why? The game uses demonportmapping to open the ports..
the external port changes often, I think based on the matches it finds, while the internal one is always 3074.
port 46137 changes based on the game.. it is not always fixed. the 3074 on the other hand is fixed.

If you have TD-W8980 routers connected that you use as access points, then you should disable their UPnP feature. After the Archer BE550 becomes the only UPnP device in your local network, then I think UPnP Wizard should find it.

I made your change, but it doesn't work

The answer Sunshine provided may not be correct, and I will try to explain it as per my understanding.
As terziyski already responded, "The UPnP (Universal Plug and Play) protocol allows applications or host devices to automatically find the front-end NAT device and send a request to it to open the corresponding ports." Upnp handles port forwarding automatically and this is how UPnP works.
What's more, no more than one device can use a port at a time. If you need multiple devices to connect via a single External IP address then you must use a secondary port when referencing the second device from outside you’d have to use the alternate port. That's why UPnP changes the external port number automatically when it detects the corresponding port has been used by another device in the network.
Back to your issue, when UPnP changes the external port to 13547, the NAT type changes to Moderate, which should be also OK for playing the game (I assume?). Can you confirm?

hi. when the nat is on moderate the game is playable but it is not the optimal solution. the game must be on open nat to not have any problems. I need both games on different PCs to have nat open at the same time.
if i manually set the internal port 3074 and the external port 13547 i have nat open also on the second pc. the problem is that if i restart the game the external port changes every time.. i ask if i explained myself.
how can I solve it?

Are you saying that the settings on the BE550 change automatically?
Or do you mean that the required port for your game has changed, and the previously opened external port 13547 no longer works?
Please clarify the issue in detail:
1. Please show us the UPnP settings on the BE550 again and mark which PC is working fine and which one is not.
2. Do you also enable Port Forwarding on the BE550 and tried to open 3074(int)/13547(ext) for the second PC manually? When the game restarts, this port forwarding rule no longer works?
3. Where did you find the port number that you need to open, such as port 13547?

1.on the first PC that starts the game it opens the ports with internal UPNP 3074 and external 3074. when I then start the second PC, without turning off the first, it opens the internal port 3074 but the external port does not open the right one.
instead of opening the 13547 it opens another one and I therefore nat moderated.
port 13547 is a variable port, it changes every time the game is started on the second PC.
2.if I manually enable the secondary port 13547 on the second PC the NAT becomes open to me. the problem is that every time you start the game on the second PC this secondary port changes
3.The game tells me which door I need to open in the connection properties
