Model: TL-WPA4220 KIT
Hardware Version: V3
Firmware Version:

I just don't understand what's going on. It works for a short while after resetting everything including restarting my router but soon after there is no internet.

I have the TP-Link utility installed on my PC that shows both devices but the extender soon disappears, however, when looking at the extender, it seems fine with all the green lights on.

The extender is in my garage. Obviously it's on the same grid as my house otherwise it wouldn't work at all although it has its own fusebox linked to the house one so not sure if that can affect it.

If anyone has any advice then please let me know, otherwise it means buying an external extender and feeding a network cable to it through my house and out of my bathroom wall.

Hi,

It is recommended to insert the two units into the wall sockets within the same room and test.

If it can work normally within one room, the it should be the environment that affects.

  @Sunshine

Thank you for your reply. It now does seem to be the case.

I tried plugging the adapter directly into the router and the extender in my living room, they worked flawlessly together. It wasn't until I plugged the extender back in the garage that it worked for a short moment but the pairing LED indicator soon disappeared again and there was no internet connection.

I've now plugged it into an outside socket and the signal reaches my garage which is also working flawlessly, however, whether this is feasible long term due to it being outside despite being in a protected cover, I don't know.

Would you know what the contributing factors could be for the extender not working in my garage and if there's any setting or adjustment that would remedy it?

Thanks very much.
