Model: Deco M4
Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version:

My current router is TP-link AX55. I purchased 3 DECO M4 to build a Mesh. It was a mistake because I assumed that AX55 would work with the Deco Mesh. Anyway, I think I now have 2 options. Option 1 is to use AX55 as a router and DECO M4 as an access point. Option 2 is to use DECO as the router and connect AX55 as an access point. I know there is a 3rd option of selling my AX55. But I need the AX55 for USB storage sharing. Can anyone comment on option 1 and option 2, which one is better?

Hi, yes, Access Point would be much better.

For more details about the difference between AP and router mode, please refer to

What’s the difference between Access Point mode and Router mode on the Deco?

Thank you very much and best regards.
