Model: Deco M9 Plus
Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version: 1.6.4 Build 20240718 Rel. 76925

I have a total of 5 Deco 9 Plus to form a whole whole wifi. Previously i had a slow 60Mb/sec Sky connection but recently changed to a 1Gb/s internet.

This is when i discovered how slow my Whole Home Deco system is. If i am sitting right next to the Main Deco i get about 700Mb/s which is very good. As soon as i am connected to any other Deco my speed is down to about 60 to 100Mb/s.

I have tried everything in the app to optimize this but the one thing i cannot do is to create an Ethernet back haul. Are the Decos supposed to be so poor on a wifi back haul?

As the Deco App is quite poor and does not show you real time stats like Signal to Noise Ratio between Decos you have no idea if placing a Deco in another area has an effect. Just seeing the little signals bars really means nothing. Anybody know of any way to get proper real time stats from the Decos?

Hi,

The signal bars on the Deco APP shows the signal strength between the satellite Deco and the main Deco.

If the signal strength is weak, the speed of the satellite Deco can also be affected. If you find it only has one or two bars, you can check if there are any household appliances or metal products near the Deco, place the Deco in an open position or move it closer to the main Deco.

And please power off the satellite deco units, stand at its place and connect to the main Deco, to test the speed you can get from the main one at this certain place, and then compare it with the speed you get from the satellite one.
