Deco P9 internet speed halved when in router mode
Hi,
Setup was 4 deco p9s in AP mode over a 3 story house with a Vodafone router handling the dhcp and ppoe internet connection.
I was having WiFi problems in my house and traced it back to my Vodafone router being slow and having issues with DHCP.
I decided to remove the Vodafone router from the setup and just use the deco p9 in router mode. The good news is all my WiFi gremlins have gone however the internet speed has dropped in half.
In AP mode I was getting the max internet speed of 4-500mbit/s but after switching to router mode it's now maxes at 225mbit/s. The deco positions haven't changed and the machine running the speed test is wired via Ethernet. The only change is moving from AP to router mode.
Oddly my upload speed has gone up 2.5x from 20mbit/s to 70mbit/s.
I have checked the QOS settings and they are set above the limit of the internet speed.
What else could be causing the speed difference?
@Sunshine thanks for the reply. I did try different cables and ports however none of that was touched when moving from AP to router mode so as expected it didn't make a difference.
The speed tests are run from a spoke unit and it's a hardwired machine. As you can see from the monitoring there is a definite drop after I changed from ap to router mode yesterday.
