EasyMesh ETA for RE815XE
EasyMesh ETA for RE815XE

I reached out to technical support earlier, but they could only advise that EasyMesh for the RE815XE is planned and I wondered if anyone knows if there is an ETA for when this would be.
I recently purchased the RE815XE and was surprised that the dedicated Wireless Backhaul via the 6Ghz band was unavailable until EasyMesh is, this feature was the main reason I got it, so I am tempted to return it.

@maverick1103 I too am wait for the Easymesh upgrade. It's been so long as the page has identified this device to be upgraded to Easymesh is "planned" https://www.tp-link.com/ca/easymesh/product-list/
I've been waiting since July 2024

I'm tempted to return both of my AXE5400 and RE815XE devices as it's annoying that the TP-Link hasn't enabled EasyMesh on the RE815XE; however, looking at other devices, I can't get anything equivalent at the same price.

I wish I'd seen this post earlier i would not have gone with RE815XE but chosen another manufacturer.
Why do this company advertise a product as "Planned" but don't follow up with actual firmware upgrade. Leaving you with a useless product.
I now have 2 devices that are not compatible.

@October31 frustrating isn't it? Luckily I purchased both of mine from Amazon so I'm tempted to go back to them about it for a return due to false advertising.

@maverick1103 I would certainly go down that route and try.
I've just found out that a few of their routers have open scourced programming. So does that mean we are waiting for some freelance techie to write the firmware so I can use their products. That's a joke.
I might send the DD-WRT licence to Newcastle uni to see if they can do it quicker.
Another note, I've noticed there's not much interaction from their support when there's genuine reason for complaint.

@October31 Ah great news, I'll call them this weekend and try my luck, but I need to work out what device I'll switch to as I'll be reliant on wireless backhaul, so a tri-band device is a must.
Interesting to hear that it's open source!
I've also noticed the same when I've reached out to their support, the lack of response is awful!

Amazon were very helpful, when I'd navigated all the automated routes and got to speak to someone.
I'm now in the same boat of what to go for.

@October31 how old were your devices? I purchased the router in October and the RE a month later.
I think I'll go with a triple-pack tri-band mesh network next, although they are a bit pricey.
