Hola,

Gracias.

Hello,

I've been using the TP-Link Deco Mesh system for several years, and this year I purchased the X1500 model. Initially, I had it set up in AP (Access Point) mode with Vodafone without any issues. Later, I switched to DIGI, and the system also worked fine in AP mode.

Recently, I changed my internet provider to O2 (Movistar), and that’s where the problems started. I cannot configure the Mesh in AP mode without losing the internet signal; additionally, the system fails to detect the second X1500 in my home. The main X1500 is connected to the router via cable, while the second X1500 connects over WiFi.

The only way the Mesh can maintain an internet connection is by setting it in router mode, but this creates a different IP range than the one provided by the O2 router. This becomes problematic because my home is set up with a smart home system, with many devices connected to a SWITCH HUB using the 192.168.1.XXX IP range from the O2 router. Meanwhile, around 30-40 devices (switches, lights, doorbells, Alexa devices, etc.) are connected via WiFi to the Mesh.

Due to the wiring setup, I can't connect the SWITCH directly to the X1500, so the devices connected to the SWITCH cannot communicate with those on the Mesh, affecting the functionality of my smart home system.

I believe it might be a configuration issue with the O2 router preventing the Mesh from working in AP mode, as it worked fine with other providers. I consulted with O2, but they assured me that the router isn’t restricted in this regard and did not offer additional technical support.

I’ve tried resetting both the routers and Mesh devices multiple times, but the issue remains.

Could you please advise on what else I can try?

Thank you.

Hi,

May I confirm what do you mean that you cannot configure Mesh? Do you mean the satellite unit will show offline in the Deco APP?

Please also provide your network topology.

Besides, please also update this beta firmware and check if it can help.

  @Sunshine

hi,

I mean, the mesh can only be configured as router, in this mode, with another IP range (192.168.68.XXX), I have access to internet for all devices connected, but the devices connected to the mesh cannot communicate with the devices connected to the main router (192.168.1.XXX).

if I configure the Mesh as Access Point, then the internet connection is lost, and also the mesh cannot communicate with the satellite mesh, connection is also lost.

I will try to update the firmware and let you know.

Anyway, this problem has only happened when I changed the provider to O2 (second brand of Movistar in Spain), with Vodafone or Digi there was no problem to connect as Access Point within the same IP range.

thanks
