Model: Deco X20
Hardware Version: V3
Firmware Version: 1.1.7

I'm trying to update my Deco X20's from 1.1.7 Build 20240101 Rel. 64163 to version 1.2.0,

downloaded from https://www.tp-link.com/nl/support/download/deco-x20/v3/#Firmware

file "X20 3.0_en_1.2.0 Build 20240606 Rel. 64638_US_EU_JP_B4_EG_SE_up.bin"

But after uploading it through the web interface it says:

"Upgrade failed. Please select the latest version of firmware to upgrade."

Trying "Online Upgrade - Upgrade firmware over the internet. (button Check for upgrades)" in the device web interface or "Update Deco" in the app will not find the newer version (which obviously is available) either.

Auto Update is enabled.

I've also tried 1.2.1 (file "X20 3.0_en_1.2.1 Build 20240723 Rel. 64983_US_EU_JP_B4_EG_SE_up.bin")

Why will the firmware not update to the almost 6 months newer version, automatically or manually?

I'm in the Netherlands. I operate the Deco's in English.

Hi, both 1.1.8 Build 20240119 and 1.2.0 Build 20240606 are for the general Deco X20(EU/US)_3.0 versions.

However, I checked your current firmware 1.1.7 Build 20240101 which is a customized version for the local ISP, such as DFN.

Did you get the Deco units from the internet provider?

The new version for Deco X20(DFN) 1.2.1 Build 20240829 is in the release process now. You will detect it later via the Deco APP in the next few weeks.

Thank you very much and best regards.

Hi,

Please try upgrading to firmware version 1.1.8 Build 20240119 first.

If it still fails, please provide a screenshot of the error.

Same error message here with model BE65(2.0) FW 1.0.6 Build 20240724 Rel. 12326 refusing to upgrade to 1.0.7_build_20240929_Pre-release version, no clues in the logs...

  @PeterFA

Hi, the situation for Deco BE65_V2 is a little bit different.

1.0.7 Build 20240815 was removed from the Cloud server and is no longer available for firmware upgrade. A new improved version will be ready soon.

Thank you very much and best regards.
