Model: Deco E4
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version:

I have recently bought a Deco E4 (3 piece) set so that I can set up a mesh throughout my house.

The information and specifications on the packaging shows the high WiFi speeds which can be achieved but doesn't state anywhere that it will be throttled to 100mbs by the Ethernet input.

Now I have a mesh system which is completely useless to me and is only suitable to be thrown in the bin because it's a massive downgrade from my internet speed.

At the moment the information on the packaging is completely misleading and I think TP Link should do the honest thing and make it clear on their packaging about the restricted speeds.

I am really disappointed with the way I have been conned by TP Link

  @Cliff_H

Hi, Welcome to the community.

It has been mentioned on the package box that Deco E4 has 2× 10/100 Mbps Ports, and the official website also lists the relevant details under Specification.

https://www.tp-link.com/my/home-networking/deco/deco-e4/#specifications

If you just purchased the Deco E4 kit, you could contact the online/local retailers to replace it with a gigabit model, such as Deco M4/M5.

 Thank you very much and best regards.

  @David-TP Hi David.

I have checked everywhere on the box and it doesn't state anywhere about the 2x10/100MBs ports otherwise I would never have bought this product.

It should have but it didn't and this is exactly why I have stated that TP Link has mislead the public with this product.

I am sure it's okay for someone with slow internet but for me running at 800MBs it's not suitable and is a complete waste of money.
