Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version: 1.0.5 (latest)

Hello.

I have just measured Internet speed across the house. The Main Two Point Four GHz WiFi and Extended Two Point Four GHz WiFi.

Ookla measured 14MB/sec within 1 meter of main router of main WiFi.

Then it gave me 13.5MB/sec within 30 CM of TP Link Extender, on the main WiFi.

Then it game me just 7MB/sec within 30 CM of TP Link Extender, on the Extender WiFi.

How is that possible? And why? My TP Link has latest firmware, and only the basic settings. Also it is one of the high-price extenders...

By the way, I disabled 5GHz on main router and 5GHz on TP Link.

Channel on TP Link is set to AUTO.

P. S. the key "TWO" on my keyboard is broken :D

This sounds pretty much expected since the wireless connection has a half-duplex nature and on every hop it halves the bandwidth - 1'st hop (14 mbps) => 2nd hop (7 mbps).

You'd get better wireless speeds on 5GHz band if the distance between the router and RE allows that.

@terziyski Hello. How do I know, for sure, if my TP LInk model is Half-Duplex or Full-Duplex? I cant believe I didnt know about this and nobody told me about such thing.

Go through this thread for more details. It's about general wireless connection, not a particular router or wireless device.
