Model: Deco X55
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version: 1.5.5

Hi, I had 3 deco x10, I bought an additional deco x55 for some new features. I set the deco x55 as the main one and connected the x10 to it, but when I connect the x10 model, the whitelist (access control) disappears from the settings. Is this the way it should be? I already wrote to tplink tech support before purchase and they replied that everything will work if the x55 is the primary one.

The weirdest thing is that the notification asking to approve internet access comes from the app and only after approval you can connect to the internet, but the feature is not shown in the settings.

Hi, Thank you very much for the feedback.

Deco X10 is indeed planned to add the Whitelist/Allow List via a firmware upgrade.

I think there might be some confusion in the Specification. The "Access Control" under Deco X10 Specification mainly refers to the "Block List". Deco X50 added the "Allow List" later via a firmware upgrade so you can see WiFi Access Control( combined Allow/Block List) now when there is only Deco X50.

Best regards.

Hi, Thank you very much for the feedback.

"WiFi Access Control" needs the support of all Deco units in the Mesh network. But it is indeed weird that WiFi Access Control still takes effect even though Deco APP no longer has this feature.

Could you please refer to this link to help me submit the Deco APP log:

How to submit Deco APP log

By the way, if you remove Deco X10 from the Mesh network, disable WiFi Access Control first, then add Deco X10 back, will Deco APP still ask for approval when a new device is trying to connect Deco?

Wait for your reply and best regards.

No, if I remove the x10 from the mesh network and disable ACL it no longer asks for network access permission for devices. Is ACL feature planned for x10? Or that they in conjunction with the x55 can work with this feature?

  @David-TP

Speaking of which, I'll add. Before buying, I checked the information on the website
https://www.tp-link.com/en/compare/?typeId=5700&productIds=52192%2C70326
On Tp-Link site it says that x10 and x55 support ACL, but in fact x10 has no ACL function. (I'll attach a screenshot)

Also tech support e-mailed me twice and told me that the function will work if x55 is as a primary unit one.
