Why can't I Control Household Internet Usage From My Home Computer?
It has been a real challenge setting up the Deco internet, for which has taken the whole day in discussions with IT Tech support. My biggest beef is that I cannot control my childrens' internet usage unless I download their iphone app. Has it not occured to the company that not everyone has a smart phone with a data package? For those clients that nave no smart phone, there is no option to meter internet usage. This seems absurd. My old internet provider allowed me to access the router controls easily via a web browser. I believe TP-Link should provide this functionality too. Thankfully, my wife just recently purchased an iphone, and so I was able to download the app. However, she does not have a data package (preferring to connect to the home network instead). When setting up the Deco app, I was required to reset the Deco box, which meant we lost internet access. Unfortunately, then set up process fails at this point because internet access is required. I only got through the process because I have been paying for two internet providers (rightly assuming i would need an overlap period). In summary, the whole process is unnecessarily cumbersome, and assumes we all have iphones with data plans. This is not a smart assumption, and disenfranchises many potential customers. TP-Link, please rectify this oversight!. PS: After requiring to reset the Deco boxes (I have a primary and secondary), I can no longer use an ethernet connection on my secondary box. This has resulted in my speed dropping from 500mps to 75mps. The tech team does not know how to fix this problem. - A Luddite
