X68 IoT devices randomly drop out
Hi All,
Had this issue for long, been doing manually reboot of DECO as a work around.
i have the X68 (2 pack) since late 2021, been having the IoT devices randomly drop out and re-connect. I didn't turn on device notification, but trying to ping the IoT devices and received timed out. The most annoying part are the 2 Meross Garage controllers, almost everyday me or family members have faced no response in Apple Home App. when it happens, most of the time it will come back in 1-2 min. some times i need to reboot the DECO devices.
3 months ago i turned on device offline/online notification in DECO app, i selected some key devices for notification and found that the smart devices are randomly off the network throughout the day. (over hundred times per device)
I have been searching online and forums about drop out with no luck.
One month ago i decided to change deployment and separate the IoT devices onto a new network with only one M5. Reason i sepeate the network is because i saw some one on fourm mentioned device conflict with DECO. Please see below my old deployment vs new deployment.
The only difference is i put the M5 on its own in AP mode and continue serving most IoT devices in it's IoT wifi network.
after tried for one month, my experience as below:
- i found that garage controller 1 connected to X68 became more stable. less offline notification and only had once no response in Apple home app.
- Those key IoT devices connected on M5 still showing offline /online as before, but overall response are much better than before.
- a very interesting part to mention, with old deployment the powerline connection to the Arlo system the doorbell almost not a single time i can communicate with people when they press the door bell. in new deployment, door bell response much better.
Can you please help and explain why the new deployment have improved the drop out?
is X68 unable to handle approx 80 devices?
will upgrade to XE75 or wifi 7 model bring me better experience? i really want to stay with DECO as i have other DECO deployments and wanting to keep one management app.
NOTE: approx 4 months ago TP-LINK replaced the whole set of X68 for another issue (Microsoft Surface randomly no connection to internet but wifi still show connected. After X68 replacement Surface no longer face this issue), my current X68 hardware version is V2. but no different on drop out issue against v1 and v2.
Thanks for reading and help.
