Hey everyone,

I'm about to buy some Decos for my house.

I currently have the Archer AX3000 router and I want to extend its WiFi coverage.

I'm deciding between a 2 Deco X20 setup and a 3 Deco M4 setup. I've heard it's better to connect one Deco directly to the router and spread the others around, which is why I'm leaning towards the 3 Deco M4 option—they’re more affordable, and I can connect one to the router and place the other two in different areas.

My second option is 2 Deco X20, but I wouldn’t connect them directly to the router, just spread them out in my house (I've tested the speed at around 450 Mbps where I want to place them).

My network speed is 600 Mbps down and 100 Mbps up on fiber.

Which option would be a better choice for me?

Hi,

The main Deco must always be connected to the main router via Ethernet cable.

And the satellite Deco units can be connect to the main one via WIFI or Ethernet cable after you set up the whole system.

You can compare the specification of the two models and then choose the one that is suitable for your case.

Compare Deco X20 and Deco M4
