Hello,

I have the TP-Link UB5A V2 adapter.

Windows 24H2 has LE Audio support (using the LC3 codec), but even though this adapter is BT 5.3, I don't see the "Use LE Audio when available" option in the "Devices" page in Windows Settings.

Is there something maybe TP-Link has to do in collaboration with Microsoft to get this option to show up and get LE Audio supported using this BT adapter?

On a slightly unrelated note, this BT adapter has BT 5.4 support from Realtek (as it's using a Realtek chip inside), so you should maybe consider releasing an updating driver at some point, just a fyi :)

Hi,

Yes, support for "LE Audio" in Windows 11 is still very rare. I have only heard of a few users who got this option to show up with certain Intel Bluetooth controllers.

If anything, in case of the UB5A that uses the RTL8671B chip, this has to be worked out between Realtek and Microsoft.

By the way, you can install Realtek's BT5.4 standard driver using the "Have disk" method and confirm the warning message with "Yes".

@woozle thanks, I did install, but I mentioned if it could be released oficially as well because probably most people are only downloading the official driver on the TP-Link website :)

By the way:

UB500/UB5A supports the SBC and AAC. It doesn’t support APT-X.

It also supports aptX, aptX HD, aptX Low Latency, and LDAC, via the "Alternative A2DP Driver" software ;)

I am currently using it with my Sony buds to stream audio via LDAC.
