Hi, 

I've got a TP Link Deco M4R deco units working (one in the house and one in a sleepout - connected to the one in the house). I recently picked up the same unit from a rental property which we want to connect so the other end of the house has strong WIFI. 

When I plug this 3rd unit in, it doesn't ever turn Blue - starts with yellow and then goes straight to solid red. 

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi, welcome to the community.

Have you tried to hold the reset pinhole(at the bottom) for 1 and check again whether it would turn flashing blue?

Hi David, 

Yes, I have tried that. It goes from yellow light and back to red. 

Someone else I have spoken to about this has said it needs to be reset via the app, but I cant get it to connect or be visible on the app either?

Hi, the hardware reset would also remove it from the Deco APP.

Are you able to view its default SSID under WLAN of mobile phone when its LED is red, such as Deco_xxxx(the last 4 letters of the MAC address)?

If not, it is also suggested to refer to this link to check whether it could get into firmware recovery mode:
