New network failure

New network failure

New network failure

Model: Deco M5
Hardware Version: V3
Firmware Version:

I have upgraded to fibre and my new router is a FRITZ!Box 7530. It has WiFi set to two different SSIDs for 2.4 and 5G. I have reset the Deco M5 but it drops to red when I want to connect to the network. I am confused as to whether I can set up an independent network or do I have to conform to the router WiFi setups?

I was under the impression that the Deco M5 network would/could have a different setup/password to the router.

Since I cannot connect I cannot see what the firmware is but I presume it is the factory setting for V3.2 hardware purchase in June 2023.

I am at my wits end with this problem.

Any and all advice gratefully accepted.

@dunsandle Since my previous attempt I re-installed my old TP-LINK Archer VR2800 and attempted to set up theDeco M5 again with that. That was my original setup but now the Deco has gone through the reset and then a steady blue light to only turn red when trying to connect.

@dunsandle Try running the Decos in access point mode

Just a M4 (2-pack) user who regrets buying it
