I have the 315 set up as an access point connected to my router by Cat5E cable.

If I plug that cable directly into a laptop I get the full speed of my ISP 1000Mb/1000Mb.

But as soon as I plug it back into the 315 I can only get up to 90Mb on any device I try via the 5GHz signal.

These devices get easily up to 700+Mb when connected to the WiFi of my main router.

 

Any reasons or is it broken from new?

Hi,

 

The Ethernet ports on RE315 is a 10/100Mbps port.

Please refer to RE315 Specification.

  @Sunshine So it is.

Well that will teach me for assuming that a device  boasting,

 

"2.4 GHz (300 Mbps) and 5 GHz (867 Mbps) dual-band WiFi"

 

would obviously have a Gigabit ethernet port, so that someone using it as an Access Point would get full speed out of their Gig broadband connection!
