Deco X20 - Android/Google Play Store services have stopped working
Although I've been using Deco X20 for over two years, the Google Play Store services have stopped working recently. While the Play Store apps are downloading flawlessly on other mobile or wifi networks, none of them are downloading in Deco X20. This problem affects all Android device that is linked to the Deco X20.Although I've been using Deco for over two years, the Google Play Store services have stopped working recently. And then reboot the main Deco.

I got the same problem and effects all our android devices when on wifi.
Dns was set to google ages ago and just restarted to have issues again. Tried reboot devices, reset dns in deco app etc. Same issue.
What's going on guys, if tplink doesn't work with Google services then why sell them here.
Is the XE75Pro effected by this issue?

@o0steveo0o we are also having the same issue, which has just started in the last 24 hours. Definitely is the Deco unit causing the issue as no devices can play YouTube videos or access the Play Store when connected to the Deco, but have no issues when just on 4G or connected to another wifi network that doesn't use the Deco
edit: not just our Android devices are affected - iPhone and iPad also affected. Appears to be an issue between Deco and Google

Hi
Thanks for your feedback.
Based on the firmware version: 2.0.6 20240115 Rel 55945, it appears that the Deco X20 you bought is a specialized product designed specifically for internet service provider. It is suggested to reach out to the internet service provider to conduct some testing or to inquire about any available firmware upgrades.
At the same time, please test whether the following suggestions help:
1. Please go to Deco APP > More > Internet connection > IPv4 > Internet connection type to change the MTU size to 1460 or you could refer to this link to find the proper MTU size: How to find proper MTU size
2. Temporarily disable Parental control and "Malicious Content" under Network Security to see whether they helped.
Warm regards.

Thanks J, don't have the option to change the MTU. Yes these were supplied by our telco One NZ, do they manage the firmware on these?
Dose the XE75Pro have this issue. If not I'll just buy these from the store and not our telco.
Note tried factory resetting both units, same issue.

@o0steveo0o I'm having the exact same issue as you. Deco X20 from One NZ, same firmware version.
Only youtube and play store affected on mobile devices connected to wifi (works fine on mobile data).
Started happening some point last week cant exactly remember when.
I've been trying lots of different things to try get it working again but have yet to find anything that works

@o0steveo0o it's finally seemed to have come right tonight. Have just tested multiple android phones in our house connected to the wifi and youtube videos are loading straight away and apps are downloading from the playstore successfully.
I haven't done anything it just came right on its own.
Would be interesting to know what was wrong.
Hopefully yours starts working as well.

@Brendan_H yup mines working now as well with the default setup, no manual DNS entry. I called One NZ yesterday and they were looking into it, didn't send me a case ID so didn't bother posting.
Great it's working, thanks everyone for all your help.
