Model: Deco M5
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version:

Hi,

I have a building of 5 floors, each floor with 4-5 Deco M5 units.

Most of the units are connected via Ethernet backbone, and there are 60-80 clients, all wireless.

At times, it seems that Deco is having hard time handling the traffic, hence I've put it in AP mode and let the router handle the dhcp and management.

While it helped, it still lags at times.

Would it better to seperate the "big" mesh network of 20 units into 5 smaller mesh networks (i. e. 1 for each floor)?

  @Hanamal

Hi, do you need the clients on different floors to communicate with each other? Or apart from the basic internet access, do you need Deco M5 to provide other features, like parental control?

If not, I think 5 separate Mesh systems would be better. Each Deco M5 Mesh works in the wireless router modem and has different IP ranges.

You could still control the 5 Mesh networks separately under the same email ID and one Deco APP.

Thank you very much and wait for your reply.
