Recover Deco X50 5G bricked
Hello,
I wanted to upgrade the fimware of my Deco X50 5G, unfortunately i choosed Deco X50 from models in TP-Link website and downloaded the version 1.2.7 and start to upgrade the device. Upgrading proccess ran successfuly and after reboot device didn't boot up again. Is there any solution to recover the previous firmware (X50 5G V1 1.0.0)?
Thanks

Hi, welcome to the community.
Was Deco X50-5G the only device in the Mesh system?
Have you tried to hold the reset pinhole for 1s on the Deco X50-5G to see whether it responds to the hardware reset?
If the hardware reset made no difference, it is also suggested to refer to this link to run a firmware recovery on Deco X50-5G:
How to use firmware recovery if the Deco become brick

Hello Dear David,
Thank you for your response, Yes i have tried the link you have put, but this Device (X50 5G) is not in the supported device list for recovery process, it's weird, the recovery function is available, i tried version Deco X50 5G V1 Rel 1.1.3 and it reboots at the middle of upgrading process (in 30%), but it works with the Deco X50 V1 Rel 1.2.2 (Recovery runs successfully). I think there should be a specific firmware version for doing recovery. I would appreciate it if you help me on this.
Best Regards

Hi, Deco X50-5G should use the HTTP Uboot Method.
I think maybe the 1.1.3 firmware size is too large and there is the 1.0.0. version for Deco X50-5G:
https://static.tp-link.com/upload/firmware/2023/202303/20230308/Deco_X50-5G_1.0_1.0.0_20221226.zip
After recovering to 1.0.0, you could update to 1.1.3 later.

You are right, Since i upgraded to version 1.2.2 which is for X50 (not X50 5G) with 31.5 Mb of size, it doesn't let me to upgrade to a file with 160 Mb of size, i tried with the version you have sent, still reboot at 10%... is there any way to get rid of the pervious firmware? In addition 1.1.3 file size is 153 Mb
With great thanks

Hi, Thank you very much for your time and patience.
Could you please leave me a message of the MAC address of this Deco X50-5G?
By the way, when you accidentally updated Deco X50-5G_V1_1.0.0 to the 1.2.7 firmware for the first time, did you update through the web management page or also through the firmware recovery tool?
So far, I don't have any further suggestions and need to ask the senior engineer for further assistance.
Will update here as soon as there is further advice.
Best regards.

Hi, Thanks for your time and patience.
I'm afraid it might not be good news. The engineer thinks the failure of firmware recovery is due to the broken hardware. If the device is still under warranty, I think you could contact the shop retailer for warranty service.
Thank you very much and best regards.
