The headline says it all. This range extender isn't very old yet has stopped working and is making a whining high pitched constant noise. It sounds as if it's got major issues.

What is the typical warranty period on these devices as they aren't cheap and I've created a powerline network so have bought a few of your products, so it's rather annoying to have to buy another. Also, I can see from the forum that I'm not the only person to experience this issue.
