Model: Deco E4
Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version: 1.6.1 Build 20231227 Rel. 53644

I have been facing drastic decrease of my WiFi speed, I have contacted the ISP but according to them there is something wrong with my Deco. My internet speed is 100mbps, but the speed of 2.4Ghz is 20mbps and speed of 5Ghz is 80Mbps. I request Tp-Link to resolve this matter as soon as possible.

Hi, welcome to the community.

May I know how much speed you expected to have from Deco E4?

80m/s over 5GHz is not bad.

2.4GHz is usually crowded and easily affected by nearby interference. Its speed varies in different situations.

If possible, it is also suggested to refer to the following link to check the current wireless link speed:

How to check the associated/link speed on a wireless client

Thank you very much and Wait for your reply.

  @David-TP

Thank you for your consent, I got to know what issue I was facing, apparently the E4 supports only 100mbps of ethernet data, so I got myself a M4 which ias upto 1 gigabit of ethernet data. Now i get speeds upto 200mbps, Is it always less than 300mbps or I have to do some changes in the router in order to get the speed exactly upto 300mbps?

Hi, Thanks for the feedback.

For Deco M4, its wireless spec is

5 GHz: 867 Mbps (802.11ac)
2.4 GHz: 300 Mbps (802.11n)

With a link speed of 867 Mbps, the expected 5GHz internet download speed would range between 300-600 Mbps, varying based on distance and interference.

So if the overall internet bandwidth is about 800m/s-1G/s, the WiFi 6/6E Deco products, such as Deco X10/20/50 are more recommended.

Thank you very much and best regards.
