Hi All,

I already have a Deco E4r mesh system, we've moved homes and new connection is a fttn (vdsl) with an Ethernet port.

which new modem/ router is ideal for meshing with my existing E4r?

There is a planned upgrade to our network to become fttp, which modem will be best here?

@Benny_Whitehous Deco X20-DSL or X50-DSL

Just a M4 (2-pack) user who regrets buying it

  @Benny_Whitehous

Hi, I noticed you mentioned the new connection is a FTTN (vdsl) with an Ethernet port. So I guess you might already have an NBN box as the DSL modem.

Do you just need a gigabit Ethernet router that could handle 1G service?

Since All Deco works together, Deco X50 seems to be a good choice.

NBN Network in Australia

Thank you very much and best regards.

  @David-TP Assuming this is NBN in Australia FTTN will be 100mbs maximum, maybe less if the residence is farther from node. They are also VDSL2 and require a VDSL modem. To work best with the Deco the modem needs to be a modem only device or be put into bridge mode (or pass-through mode or modem only mode or whatever the device calls it). If the modem is actually a router all the problems that come with DSL routers in front of Decos remain.

The FTTP upgrades provide an NBN media converter from fibre to ethernet which is the so-called NBN box we hear about so often.

They can go to 1gbps and work well indeed.
