New Release Archer AX80(US/CA) V1 Firmware 1.1.1 Build 231201 - USB Performance Boost
Hi All,
A New Firmware has been released for the Archer AX80(US/CA) V1: 1.1.1 Build 20231201.
This update brings significant improvements to the USB read and write performance, enhancing the overall user experience.
New Features/Enhancements
-
Optimized the L2TP/IPsec VPN performance;
-
Enhanced USB sharing performance;
-
Optimized system stability.
Firmware Update
To update the firmware, you have two options:
- Utilize the online update feature through the Tether App/Web UI.
- Download the firmware from the TP-Link official website and upgrade it manually through the Web UI.
Case Sharing
To showcase the performance of the latest firmware, we conducted a performance test with the following setup:
- We connected a USB solid-state drive (SSD) to the USB port of the AX80 router.
- A PC with a 2.5G LAN network adapter was connected to the AX80 2.5G LAN port.
- Using Samba file sharing, we performed a CrystalDiskMark test on the PC.
The results were impressive, with read speeds of up to 290MB/s and write speeds of approximately 120MB/s, representing a substantial upgrade.
Specifically, the read speed for a single 5GB movie file was an impressive 280MB/s.
Notes:
- The Archer AX80 router features a single 2.5G port that supports speeds beyond 1Gbps. To test the Samba shared folder read and write performance, we recommend switching the 2.5G port to the LAN port and utilizing CrystalDiskMark on your 2.5G LAN PC.
- Enabling QoS may impact the USB read and write performance. If the performance does not meet your expectations, we suggest temporarily disabling the QoS feature.
