Model: Deco PX50
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version:

Is there any support for SQM in Deco mesh? Bufferbloat is an issue on Starlink connections and SQM could help greatly.

If I was to get a DD-WRT router, disable Wi-Fi on it, just to use SQM, would that be beneficial? Like this:

Starlink --> StarLink Hub (in pass-through mode, no Wi-Fi) --> DD-WRT router (with SQM and with Wi-Fi disabled) --> Primary Deco Mesh satellite --> other mesh satellites

Advice appreciated as always!

  @thelinkuser

Hi, There hasn't been a plan to support SQM on the Deco.

Deco should work with the DD-WRT router (with SQM and with Wi-Fi disabled). And please also set Deco into the Access Point mode.

How to set up Deco to work in Access Point mode

Thank you very much and best regards.

@David-TP Thank you for the reply.

Would a simple router, like "EdgeRouter X" placed before the first Deco satellite unit give SQM capability?

Regarding installing DD-WRT on Deco, do you mean a firmware replacement? This breaks the warranty I understand and is not an attractive option.

@thelinkuser Ok, could I use a TP-Link router with SQM, in pass through mode, just to get the benefit of SQM?
