  @David-TP I've just bought the X50-5G and the 3 pack of X50-Pro nodes. I've installed the latest firmware, but today the wifi went down. I tried turning it of several times. It eventually came back on, but all 3 nodes had to be powered down befire they'd reconnect.

I can't imagine even having to do this every couple of days. When I had my normal broadband with my Asus RT-AC86U, I never had any issues whatsoever. I'm not prepared to have to tolerate what is a massive inconvienence. If it happens again it'll be all packed back up and returned. When you pay good money for something like the Deco, you expect it to work without these frustrating issues.

  @David-TP

I have same instability issue with this router in Poland in "Plus" LTE network as well. I am using 4G only. There is no 5G yet in my location. I have reported my issues already almost year ago on this forum. Since that time number of restarts has been reduced. I used DNS addresses - preferred and alternative set to google (8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4), I have newest firmware (1.2.1), I have scheduled daily restarts for my network. However, sometimes there are no restarts for few days, sometimes I have few restarts per day.

I used to live with it, however I am very disappointed. I will think twice choosing provider of my network devices in the future.

One think is really annoying me.

Even there is needed to restart cellular stack, It is shame that TP-Link implemented it as restarting whole router. I am using 4G as backup only. My router could still provide network from working WAN whilest there would be enough to restart only cellular part. Instead of that I have restarts of whole home network. Because of backup connection which is even not in use as active internet source at the moment. Instead of that it is used as active source of restarts only.

Now I regret I didn't buy double-WAN ETHERNET-ONLY router (for example Omada TL-ER605) + ANY external cellular receiver available on the marked and install it before my main deco.

  @piotreklc60 I have no idea too. One stability issue from such a big company can't resolve one small stability issue for 1 year. I have no idea how they operate. Unfortunately this is the stated of tp-link. I think their strategy just to release new product and dont care about their existing user.

  @RxNOOB I guess it's the same as X50-4G now. They just ignore the issues and then slowly phased out the model towards end of life.

Then asked users to get newer models. Rinse and repeat.

If I will be forced by tp-link to buy new model then of course I will do it. But no more from tp-link.

  @piotreklc60  Well, my X50 5G had been working okay for a few days, but tonight it's playing up again, freezing & giving me 1Mbps. I turn it off fog a while & turn it back on and I'm back up to 400 Mbps, until it happens a few minutes later.

I think I'm going to have to send it back, because I can live like this. I'm literally having to turn my mobile data on on my phone to make this post because the connection on the 5G router is so unstable.

Not being able to load pages and having videos buffering is just BS. I don't know if TP-Link are not supporting their older models, but it's put me right off the brand.

If I have to send my TP-Link X50 5G and the 3 x X50 Pro nodes back, I don't think I'll ever touch TP-Link again.

  @IanHoll

My X50-5G restarts more often in rainy days. Some day when there were very extreme weather conditions I had restart every 15-20minutes, contineously, for few hours. I thought it might be caused by weather conditions or interferences from power grid. I bought UPS with integrated filters for the power supply but problem still exist so it is not power grid issue. I assume it has something to do with electromagbetic interferences from the air. The only reason I didn't send back this router is that it has integrated very good analog circuit as well as antennas. My home is in location with very poor mobile signal. On my Samsung mobile phone I can have max 1-2 Mbit/s internet working outdoor (inside home much less) whilest X50-5G on backup as 4G, on the same mobile network as my phone, BUT working INSIDE my home on integrated antennas provides me ~40-50Mbit/s. However, Samsung doesn't restart 🤣

It seems to be very good hardware but with sh*t software. Instead of fixing software and keep selling very good product seems they preferr drop it. Crazy.

  @piotreklc60  Yeah, I've had this disconnect issue all day today. This X50-5G is an absolute nightmare. The lot's going back. I've got the x50-5G, 3x X50 Pros and a 2.5Gbps switch. All of it's going back. I simply cannot tolerate this..

*** Update ***

Even though I've had 3 bars of signal with the internal antenna, I've removed the antennas from a couple of Reolink 4G CCTV cameras and fitted them to the X50-5G. So far so good.

  @David-s

Hopefully update for deco X50-5G V1 is in the works. Its really unusable at the moment for me. Loses connection to 5G (and 4g) daily. I tried scheduled reboot every morning, but the deco could freeze at the reboot also.
I have good external antennas and the reception is excellent. Still the deco drops connection. Very disappointed with the product, as it is in my holiday home with wifi surveillance camera and I control the heating of the house via wifi. Old Huawei modem for 3 years never had any issues, just wanted to "uprage" to deco because of better mesh support. I bought the deco in october 2024.

Maybe I could send log files or something? Of course the connection is now down and i am not able to visit the house for atleast few days...

  @Juusto

Hi, welcome to the community.

May I know your SIM carrier?

It would be very helpful if you could help us capture the modem log when 5G/4G network drops out:

How to capture the modem log on Deco X50-5G

Thank you very much.

Best regards.
