  @Shendo

Hi, is there another ISP router in front of Deco, like your ISP wireless router?

It seems to be caused by the Double NAT.

Did you also edit the port forwarding rules on the first ISP router when the IPV4 address on Deco has been changed?

Wait for your reply and best regards.

  @David-TP

In response to your questions

" is there another ISP router in front of Deco, like your ISP wireless router?"

Yes, my NBN NTU sits in front of mt deco.   It is setup like this (Internet -->> ISP provided NTU -->> Deco --> User Device )

"Did you also edit the port forwarding rules on the first ISP router when the IPV4 address on Deco has been changed?

 No,  I don't have access to change any settings on the NBN provided NTU

Regards

  @David-TP The device communication internally in the network with each other has been a disaster since this firmware. Commands do not arrive, devices are not reachable and I often get messages that the network is unstable and bad from iOT devices.

  @Ulbi

Hi, Thank you very much for the feedback.

The issue description here is still not quite clear. Did only the smart devices from the IOT network drop out a lot? How about the general network devices, like mobile phones/PCs? Are they disconnected frequently as well?

Did you use any controllers/servers to manage the smart devices, like HomeAssistant, Apple HomePod, Google Home, etc?

What are the model numbers of your smart home devices?

I see there are 3*Deco X55. Are they wirelessly connected together?

Wait for your reply and best regards.

  @David-TP I only have 2 sockets in the iot network. These are not affected. All other devices are on the main network. There, devices are disconnected from time to time or can only communicate poorly or not at all with each other for some reason. I also have an X50 Outdoor in the garden and a 24 Port Tp Link Switch in the basement. No commands or changes in the app are sporadically applied to the device. Currently, for example, to the robotic mower Segway Navimow. Or some apps on the mobile phone to smart devices cannot establish the connection properly. I also have the problem sporadically that devices can no longer log in to the guest network. However, this does not specifically affect this firmware.

All 3 x50 are connected via LAN. Only the X50 Outdoor is connected to the others via WLAN

Hi everyone,

I've successfully downgrade back to Firmware version 1.4.1 You need to downgrade back to first release firmware, then proceed by directly updating back to 1.4.1 from WebUI

You can download from this website Singapore Tp-Link for first official firmware release V1

https://www.tp-link.com/sg/support/download/deco-x50/v1/#Firmware

https://static.tp-link.com/upload/firmware/2021/202112/20211213/Deco_X50(US)_V1_1.0.4_211016.zip

EDIT: it seems deco is unable to update directly straight to version 1.4.1 firmware, has to be updated to 1.2.5, with app or if you have the file, that would be better and easier to update through the WebUI.

  @Shendo

Hi, Thank you very much for the update.

Have you ever connected a laptop to the NBN connection box to see whether is the IP address on the laptop? is it the same as what you got on fast.com

-I see some NBN providers use CG-NAT service, take Exetel for example:

https://www.exetel.com.au/broadband/nbn/faq-terms--What is CG-NAT?

But I am not sure why it only started after the 1.5.0 beta firmware.

I believe you set the VPN server connection on the Deco X50.

For the network topology:

ISP(CG-NAT)---NBN connection box--Deco X50(VPN server)

Under CG-NAT service, if the remote clients try to connect to the VPN server, it has to pass through NAT protection first before reaching Deco X50, which might cause the VPN failure.

When you used to have the same WAN IP address on fast.com and IPV4 on Deco, there was no additional NAT protection and the VPN connection worked well.

Is there any chance that you could contact the ISP to opt out of CG-NAT service?

Wait for your reply and best regards.

  @David-TP  it would be really useful to understand further how the scenes QOS works even.

All we have now is it accelerates the apps within the scene.

What apps within a scene take priority if 4-5 apps are working at the same time on low bandwidth connections?

How do apps within a scene get proritised?

More info would be useful to ensure we understand how to use this feature to the get the best out of it. Currently I'm not even sure what is doing and if it's even worth using.

Is this just a more granular version of the Deco M5 QOS?

I notice that X55 on the US website has received official V1.5.0 firmware but there are remarks going around that connections are dropping intermittently like disconnection but no red lights on the Deco LED. I can attain to that as my X50 experiencing the same issue as well and hence why I decided to forego all the new features and prefer stability anytime anyday. Hope Tp Link can solve this buggy firmware version as soon as possible before pushing out official firmware for X50s.
